Bladen Mid-Brown Wool/Silk blend 3 button Safari Jacket with bellows pockets and Epaulettes – Size 40; Condition: Used, Very Good

Barely worn Safari Jacket from Bladen for sale, size 40, although the sleeves are slightly longer than those of a typical blazer (see measurements). The jacket is unlined, making it perfect for the coming warmer months, and the seams are taped in a lovely golden fabric.The body of the jacket is made from a 55% Silk/ 45% Wool blend, and the pockets and sleeves are lined in light brown satin. The buttons look and feel like horn but I cannot confirm this. The jacket fabric is wonderfully soft, and there are lighter and darker brown flecks running throughout the weave (as seen in the last 6 photos especially) giving it a really beautiful appearance up close.

The jacket features a three button closure and an amazing 6 pockets: 2 bellows breast pockets both with button closure, two bellows patch pockets and a button closure, and 2 internal pockets (one with button closure). There is a half belt to the back to add support, which is non-adjustable. There are double vents to the rear, to allow greater freedom of movement as well as comfort while sitting. The jacket has functional epaulettes (the buttonholes are real therefor the buttons can actually be used), and that combined with the 4 external bellows pockets to the front gives the jacket a slight military feel.

Jacket Length (collar to base of jacket): 31 inches / 78.7cm

Armpit to Armpit: 22 inches / 55.9

Sleeve length (top of shoulder to cuff): 25.5 inches / 64.8cm

The jacket t is barely worn as it was acquired just before lockdown, and my subsequent weight gain means it no longer fits – but that is no fault of the jacket!
